While schools remain closed and the country battened down the hatches as temperatures dropped, snow arrived across the country.
Not everyone was thrilled – it makes a lot of people’s jobs more difficult, despite looking pretty.
One man made sure to shovel the snow from his path in order to make it clearer for his postwoman.
And she wrote a simple reply: “Thanks” alongside a smiley face in the snow to show her appreciation.
As we enter what feels like month 6987 of lockdown, people were left smiling at the sweet gesture from both parties.
The man shared the snow message on Reddit’s forum ‘Made Me Smile’ where he wrote: “I shoveled a footpath in the snow for my mail courier and she left a note of appreciation.”
People appreciated the post – after all, small gestures mean a lot at the moment.
One person commented: “The little things.”
Another shared: “I shovel for my mailman and for John, my neighbor who walks his dog Oliver every day.
“I shovel down to the fire hydrant so Ollie can pee on it. Otherwise I wouldn’t shovel a thing.”
A third said: “I met the ups guy halfway down my driveway cause I didn’t shovel the deck and didn’t want him risking injury due to my laziness.
“He said thank you and it made me happy. It’s nice to be nice 🙂 Good post.”
Meanwhile, as a result of the bitter weather, a huge section of the Thames even froze over at Teddington, south west London.
